Penam Group Corporate Environmental Policy |
| |
| |
Penam is committed to the search, development and marketing of pharmaceutical products. We recognise that our business activities have an influence on the environment and accept that we have a duty to carry these out in an environmentally responsible manner.
Initiatives are already in place across the Group that implement an effective environmental approach. The practices, set out below, build on these and establish how we will fulfil our duty in the future: |
| |
| |
As a minimum, we will meet legal requirements or regulations and we will aim to satisfy international agreements on environmental issues, where these are relevant to our business; |
| |
All our staff will be aware of our environmental policy, will be informed of their individual responsibility towards the environment and will be encouraged to consider environmental issues as an everyday part of their role; |
| |
Across the Group, we will promote good environmental practice through the review of purchasing processes, through reduction in the consumption of resources such as energy or water and through recycling or other waste initiatives; |
| |
At our key production sites, we will monitor emissions and discharges with the aim of achieving cost-effective reductions in the levels of pollution; |
| |
When selecting key suppliers, we will consider their approach to the environment, we will require them to comply with environmental legislation or regulations and we will monitor their environmental status during the contract period; |
| |
On a regular basis, we will review environmental initiatives throughout the Group, we will update our environmental policy and we will set goals for the future. |
| |
| |
Whilst the main purpose of our policy is to raise awareness of environmental issues across the operation of our business, we are keen to raise awareness of these issues on a wider scale. Our policy will therefore be available to or communicated to any interested parties, including visitors to our sites, shareholders and customers. |

Penam Group Quality Policy |
| |
| |
Penam is committed to the development, manufacture, assembly, control and distribution of safe and effective pharmaceutical products in compliance with current regulatory requirements.
During the various phases of drug development and drug registration, emphasis will be placed upon quality safety and efficacy assessed from sound scientific data generated in compliance with internationally recognised standards and codes of practice and with the preparation of high quality regulatory dossiers for review by worldwide health authorities.
Robust technology transfer mechanisms will be established and maintained to ensure that products intended for commercial use continue to be manufactured, packaged and controlled using validated processes in qualified environments capable of meeting our high quality standards.
Effective communications will be maintained with our suppliers to enable the timely distribution of products meeting with customer requirements and business objectives.
To achieve these objectives Penam forms strong partnerships with reputable contract research organisations, manufacturing and packaging companies and analytical testing laboratories also committed to the same high quality principles.
Contracts and Technical Agreements will be maintained which clearly define responsibilities in providing assurance that product quality, safety and efficacy will not be compromised whilst operations continue to comply with all regulatory requirements.
To ensure that these quality principles are achieved and maintained Penam will continue to develop effective quality management systems and organisations that are adequately resourced with personnel of the appropriate background, knowledge, training and experience.
Quality standards will be maintained and management responsibilities defined as part of a Group Quality Manual in order to provide guidance in achieving the company’s quality objectives. These will be communicated to all Penam personnel and to the relevant staff located at contractor and supplier organisations.
Penam personnel have a collective responsibility for quality and must comply with the requirements of the Quality Policy and Quality Standards, where applicable, in the performance of their daily duties.
The Quality Control Department is responsible for the quality testing of all raw materials, finished products and packaging components. The QC Laboratories are modern, well equipped and comprise chemistry and microbiological laboratories. |

Penam Group Corporate contributions policy and guidelines |
| |
| |
This document outlines the approach that Penam Pharmaceuticals takes to corporate sponsorships, bursaries, fund-raising and charitable contributions.
This policy does not include marketing-related sponsorships that are part of product marketing strategies and may be more commercially oriented rather than a key part of Penam’s corporate social responsibility philosophy.
Penam is committed to its role as a socially responsible company and has the aim that communities in which it operates should benefit directly from the wealth and jobs created and the investment of time and money in the community. |
